We are away…

We had our jobs canceled for the end of April and we had one month to finish our truck. End of May came closer and still we had to solve some problems. Fortunately, we could work in front of the house of Johannes parents, which was a big help for us. In the last week we changed our departure date several times, then it was friday afternoon 17.15 and we definitely left Albershausen. The first stop was Lisa with her family in Leinfelden, as our goal is not to drive too many kilometres a day.

The next day we were driving slowly through the Black Forest, admired the Sauschwänzlebahn and then drove across the Swiss border to Schleitheim.

For a couple of days we stayed with Iris and her family, enjoyed the start of our trip and finished some small things at the truck. Then we moved on to Schaffhausen, where we first washed all our clothes. Our goal was to start with clean clothes and a clean bed. And every day we enjoyed having a shower.
As the week ended, we said goodbye to our parents and made a small tour in Switzerland, from Winterthur to Grisons.

We drove slowly over the Julier Pass to the Upper Engadine. There we stayed a few days in Samedan, enjoyed the only rain-free day with a bike tour to Morteratschgletscher and our first Packrafting tour from Celerina to Samedan. Accidentally, a former colleague from work told us, that on saturday it was the open day at the tunnel in Silvaplana, what we didn’t want to miss as it was anyway raining.

Afterwards we drove to Zernez, where we made a beautiful walk in the Nationalpark the following day.

Later the day we drove through the Lower Engadine to Tarasp, where we spend a great week with Ute and Meindl. We had awesome dinners, made a long mountain biking tour, did some work at the truck and just felt comfortable during our stay.

Once again we had to say goodbye and we drove to Samnaun, for filling up our tanks, then back to Austria for filling up our fridge and further on to the Reschenpass.

A biking tour around the lake, with a shower from the sky, let us decide to drive the day after directly to Bozen, as the forecast was getting better. The sunny days we wanted to spend in the Dolomites, for climbing and biking. The next day we had our first day with a temperature over 30 degrees in Bozen. In the evening we drove towards the Dolomites and slept in Val Gardena.
