Kärnten ... Greifenburg or just around the corner of the Gaugen hotel. It was a nice saturday morning and Hans, the brother of Herman, visited us.
After the heavy rainfall of last night, we noticed just before Hans came, that water was dropping in by the window in the kitchen. The first thought was assembling kit will fix it all. Hans meant as well to use some silicone for fixing.
After his visit we removed the frame of the window and saw, what had happened. The ceiling was all soaked with water and it seemed, that the water has been coming in for years. Mould – a lot of it and it was even smelling!!

After a few hours of removing the ceiling and the first 20 mm of isolation, we were able to remove nearly all the parts covered with mould. The next day we were working in the bathroom and prepared everything for the reparation, so as cleaning and grinding the ceiling.
On monday Herman drove us to the building centre, where we could buy all the materials which were needed. On Tuesday all the wooden parts for the ceiling were cut and ready for the coating with glass fibre.
Till Saturday we finished all the work, mounting the parts for the ceiling, painting, making silicon joints and renewing all the joints of our three windows we have on our roof.
